STARR & MCCARTNEY LAUNCH BEATLES VIDEOGAME
Posted 10:10am 06/02/09
Former BEATLES RINGO STARR and SIR PAUL McCARTNEY staged a second 2009 Fab Four reunion to launch a new videogame featuring the band's hits on Monday (01Jun09). The two rockers performed together, for the first time this century, at filmmaker David Lynch's Change Begins Within concert in New York in April (09), and they came together again to help promote the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band videogame, alongside the widows of late bandmates John Lennon and George Harrison at Microsoft Corp.'s press conference launch in Los Angeles. The new Rock Band game features 45 of the Beatles' tunes spanning the band's career. McCartney tested his videogame skills on an air guitar at the launch and joked, "Who ever thought we’d end up as androids?" A thrilled Starr added, "The game is good, the graphics are good, and we look great." The new game, which is the brainchild of Giles Martin - the son of legendary Beatles producer George - is due for release in September (09). The existing Beatles and Harrison's musician son Dhani all contributed to the new videogame. (KL/WNV/CL) *WENN
